Atlanta rap star Young Jeezy is personally taking steps to prepare local youth for life in the classroom, with his Back 2 School giveback and bowling event.
The rapper, along with Corporate Thugz Entertainment (CTE), the Boys and Girls Club and V-103 DJ Greg Street, will host the event, which took place yesterday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. today (August 2) at Metro Lanes & Games in Atlanta.
Free backpacks, clothing, sneakers and school supplies donated by 8732 clothing, Brand Jordan, Nike, Akademiks and Pastry will be given away to kids in need.
The Back 2 School give back isn’t the first time Young Jeezy has used his celebrity status to benefit young fans in Atlanta.
Last year, the rapper and CTE presented the first ever Toyz n da Hood, a week-long toy drive and charity event series.
The series, which took place in December, presented 1,000 toys for 1,000 kids at various locations in Macon and Atlanta.
Musically, Young Jeezy is preparing for the release of his third album, The Recession.
The album is slated to hit stores on September 2.
