Vybz Kartel and Mavado … sharing the stage at this year’s Magnum Follow Di Arrow? Promoter Dexton Ennis says he’s not ruling anything out.
“There has been no agreement between myself and the two artistes to have this done, so I want people to know that. But at the same time, I’m not saying yes or no. With Magnum Follow Di Arrow, people have seen that anything is possible because we are about bringing energy and excitement to dancehall. If the artistes are up to it, I won’t stop them. So people just have to be there to see what happens,” he said.
Following closely on the heels of last year’s Sting concert, many persons have been asking about the possibility of Mavado and Vybz Kartel sharing the stage at Magnum Follow Di Arrow, slated to take place on Saturday, February 27, at James Bond Beach, St Mary.
“While I understand why people are asking and are excited about the possibility, again I just want to say nothing like that has been finalized and I’m not saying yes, or no. Dancehall, Magnum and Follow Di Arrow are about expecting the unexpected and I’m not just talking about Mavado and Kartel. There will be a lot of surprising moments at this year’s show,” said Ennis.
Magnum Follow Di Arrow has been a staple in dancehall circles for many years and this year is no different.
The show’s lineup features some of dancehall/reggae’s premier artistes, especially those who were heavy hitters in 2009 for a number of reasons. They include: Bounty Killer, Sizzla Kalonji, Assassin, KipRich, Merciless, Lisa Hyper, Macka Diamond, Stacious, Pamputtae, Timberlee, Twin of Twins, Lutan Fyah, George Nooks, Flippa Mafia and a host of others.
“Every year we try to take it a step further and make each show better than the last. There is a category called ‘Walk Out’ and with that fans can expect just about anything from the artistes in that section like Face, Lisa Hyper, Stacious and the others,” said Ennis.
