The Mixed Martial Arts and Orthodox Jewish community in Florida both lost one of their own on Tuesday, July 4, one day after a group of men rushed the residence of fighter Aaron Rajman and left him for dead.
Fireworks prematurely celebrating America’s independence had reportedly just concluded when an unspecified number of home invaders poured into the Boca Raton home Rajman shared with his mother and siblings on Monday night. A fight would ensue and shots went off, striking Rajman, before the assailants fled off in one vehicle.
While Rajman hadn’t accomplished anything of precedence in terms of his record in the octagon, the 2-2 fighter was becoming a notable figure among those in his religious community. He’d wear his yarmulke during fight introductions and openly represented his faith in interviews. As a student trained at the reputed American Top Team gym he was known by numerous figures on the MMA world, many of whom have expressed condolences over his loss.
