Excelsior kept their hopes of advancing to the semifinals of the Corporate Area schoolboy Manning Cup competition on Monday when they defeated Calabar 5-1 at Constant Spring.

They are now on three points, second behind Group K leaders Jonathan Grant who are on six. Like Excelsior, Charlie Smith are on three points, but with an inferior goal difference.

Jonathan Grant will meet Calabar in the group’s final set of games while Excelsior will play Charlie Smith.

Jonathan Grant just need a draw to go through, but the group winner could be decided by goal difference.

If Calabar, already out of the competition, somehow find a way to defeat Jonathan Grant, then either Charlie Smith or Excelsior could advance by virtue of goal difference.
