(Kingston, Jamaica) With this year marking the 8th anniversary of the Liguanea Art Festival, Jamaica’s premier outdoor art showcase organizers are gearing up for yet another successful staging come Sunday April 17th on the grounds of Liguanea Plaza.
At the official Press Launch last Sunday media and specially invited guest were treated to Food, Art and Music the three core features which has help the Festival to grow from strength to strength, pulling hundreds of art lovers and curious patrons each year. Regarded as a family showcase the Festival provides a platform for Painters, Ceramists, Photographers, Jewelers and Sculptures both young and old to display their work in a positive friendly environment which industry stakeholders will agree is lacking on the local scene.
Founders of the Art Festival Tony & June Wong, recognizing that the future of Jamaica’s visual arts needed to be protected continues to provide workshop for Kids at each staging giving them an opportunity to interact and learn different art forms. Amongst the list of some eighty artists who will be in attendance this year are Jeffrey Perry who offers Charcoal Portraits, Photographer Franz Marzouca and Phillip Supersad.
