Socaphiles took to social media websites Facebook and Twitter on Thursday afternoon when Tristar Entertainment announced that it would be presenting one of the largest names in soca music, Machel Montano, at its final event on April 29. The final fete, called Soca Supa Soka, will be an all-out affair as the organisers will be pulling out all the stops for a spectacular finale.

The timeless Queen of Soca, Alison Hinds will ignite the stage at the LIME All-Island Carnival when it brings the energy of soca to Montego Bay on Saturday, April 9. This, the sixth leg of the roving soca fete, will be staged at the Vegas Flamingo at the Blue Diamond Plaza in Montego Bay.

Carnival is about fun and frolic and at the LIME All-Island Carnival, the fun and frolic would not becomplete without appropriate drinks. Trade Winds Citrus and Pepsi have made the event a big part of their marketing portfolios by being official drink sponsors for the three-month long fete.

The second stop for the LIME All-Island Carnival, dubbed Soca Mesmerise, got underway last Saturday evening at the Portland Old Marina in Port Antonio, Portland. Picking up where it left off from Kingston, the travelling soca fete saw a massive crowd filling the venue from as early as 9:00 pm.

The LIME All-Island Carnival has been creating quite a buzz since its launch last Wednesday evening at the Devonshire, Devon House. The 12 week carnival series which will encompass soca lovers revelling and partying in 10 parishes across the island, has since announced on their social media platforms ta partnership with MTV Caribbean television network Tempo.
