The island of Jamaica is about to start its fashion season with Style Week Jamaica scheduled for later this month and Caribbean Fashion Week in June. With the intense pressure now being faced by local and international designers to complete outstanding and flawless creations can be felt in the fashion circles around the island.
Not to be outdone are the stylist and models who are now working on concepts and hitting the gyms respectively and fashion bloggers like Ashlei Fearce, Candy Renee and James Black giving tips to their readers as to whats hot for the season and tips on how to create their own style.
These bloggers are as vital to the fashion industry as the designers as they give an independent opinion on the collections that are showcased at many fashion shows as often times they are stylist or designers who have years of industry experience, and gives there valuable opinion. One must note however some of these bloggers may just be lovers of fashion without any formal training.
Ashlei Fearce self named blog (http://ashleifearce.blogspot.com/) gives her readers a weekly or every two week update on whats going on in celebrity fashion trends as she also copies what other international style bloggers tend to do seek a poll on which celebrity looks better in a particular garment. While her blogger counterpart Candy Renee’s blog opens the doors a bit more where she talks about style and incorporates make up and shoes into her weekly blog updates. Candy Renee has been styling the men of Kingston with some of the most funky and exciting clothes that she sources from all over the world. Her clients range from Entertainers to Professionals. In 2009 It was Candy’s esteemed pleasure to introduce “Access By Candy Renee” an added subsidary to her retail company TheFashionHouse LTd . Then the latest addition to the world of fashion blogging is designer and stylist James Black of Yahdie Conscious who’s blog has or is revolutionizing the local fashion blog experience. James Black, is also the designer of the trendy Glamheads and Tribal Chains that are worn by some of the top female music industry females and socialites in Jamaica. On her blog she does one thing differently from the other bloggers mentioned, on her blog she has well produced video blogs with top Jamaican male entertainers giving their take on fashion and giving fashion tips. JBSTYLEZONE is indeed a blog like the rest to watch.
