SMASHING Burning Up Local Radio With DNA Single

Extraordinary new talent Smashing has many reasons to smile of late considering the fact that his latest release entitled “DNA” has become a staple on local and international radio. The Spanish Town based singjay says the song has been opening many doors for him since its release for which he is truly grateful. The catchy track which was produced by his management team (How Wow Records) has become a favorite among a plethora of radio deejays while the demand for dubplates has him struggling to find time to meet the great demand.

“When you sing real music you get real results mark my words because before this song was released it seemed quite daunting to get rotation for my music however from the song was sent out I started getting videos from deejays all over the world that I have never even met which shows the power of good music. It is truly a great feeling” Stated Smashing.

Born Alvin R. Wallen, Smashing grew up in Frazer’s Content a community on the outskirts of Spanish Town, in St. Catherine, Jamaica. The name Smashing is a replacement for the name Hector Frass, the name used in the early stages of his music career. Smashing’s love for the arts began at an early age. He noticed he had a connection with the arts when he was in primary school. However, it was while attending high school his passion for music started to bloom and he began testing his musical abilities. He would often show-off his performing prowess to his classmates in high school, chanting lyrics from Vybz Kartel’s songs long before the entertainer became a popular icon.

“Inna dem time deh as I can remember, a friend of mine name Leon gave me a cassette with nuff a Addi songs and me use to study dem and perform them in class while friends and I beat desk, I love the vibe which generated my interest to be more involved in music, ” Wallen said.

Smashing who is currently singed to USA based label HowWow Records has a slew of buzzing singles including, DNA, Friends and Last Try. The music video for DNA was released last week and can be seen on Smashing’s Vevo page (SmashingVevo).
