Reggae/dancehall legend Sizzla Kalonji has once again penned a very thought-provoking single that tackles social injustice and based on the initial feedback he may have another massive hit in the making.
The song produced by Bermuda-based record label Top Chef Records is already steadily gaining traction in international music circles but according to the producer Olando Graham his team will be focusing on getting the profound track to number one in Jamaica.
“Sizzla is an amazing artiste and in my view, this song represents him in his strongest area which is tackling social and political issues which are more relevant now than ever. Initially, we were focusing primarily on the international market however we believe the Jamaican society needs to hear this message and as such we are making the track available to all interested” Stated Olando Graham of Top Chef Records.
The prolific entertainer born Miguel Collins is known for mega hits such as Dry Cry, Thank You Mamma, Rise To The Occasion and Simplicity. According to the producer of the track he is very easy to work with and has a never ending passion for music which made the process both fun and an honor.
“Sizzla is one of the greatest artistes to have emerged from Jamaica so first of all it was an honor to have him in studio but I must say it was very impressive to see how musically gifted he is and after all these years his passion for music has not faded. I think many of these new artistes can learn a lot from the great man because he takes pride in his work which explains his longevity” Stated Graham.
Currently, arrangements are being made to shoot the highly anticipated music video for the single. The People Cry is now available on all major digital platforms.
