Mom Arrested for Buying Cocaine for Daughter’s 18th Birthday
There are a lot of mother’s out there who have questionable child-raising skills, and now a mother out of London has now joined those ranks. Nicola Austen wanted to treat her daughter for her 18th birthday by getting her a limousine for a night out on the town. Oh yeah, and she bought 12 bags of cocaine to “make sure she had a good time.”
37-year-old Austen, who is also a grandmother, was arrested when a drug dog sniffed out the cocaine that was hidden in the windows of her Kent area home, totaling almost 6 grams. According to Kent Online:
“Austen, who admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply, had six previous convictions, one for possessing amphetamine in 2010.”
Her defense attorney, Danny Moore pleaded with the court:
“It is her great shame she finds herself in court. She appeared to have left this sort of thing behind.”
Moore used his magical lawyer powers to help Austen avoid jail all together. She was instead put on probation for 9 months and ordered to 250 hours of community service. Moore argued with the court that Austen should not be imprisoned as she had young son as well as her own grandmother who she cared for.
The Daily Mail caught up to Austen who said:
“It’s all been blown out of proportion. I’ve had enough. It isn’t exactly the scoop of the century, is it? It was a party.”
I wonder what she’s gonna do for her daughter’s 21st birthday.
