Rapper-actor Ludacris lashed out at the author of a new James Bond movie saying that he needs to be slapped.
The rapper, who is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his yearly Atlanta weekend event, said Anthony Horowitz the author of a new James Bond novel needs to come to the city and be slapped.
“Need to slap the hell out of him,” the star told Atlanta’s WVEE V-103-FM. “He deserves a slap.”
The rapper was challenged by one of the hosts of the radio program to which he replied: “I didn’t say nothing wrong!”
Horowitz, according to Entertainment Weekly, told The Daily Mail that he didn’t think Elba should have the part.
“Idris Elba is a terrific actor, but I can think of other black actors who would do it better,” Horowitz said. “For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part. It’s not a color issue. I think he is probably a bit too ‘street’ for Bond. Is it a question of being suave? Yeah.”
Horowitz later apologized.
Elba has also responded to Elba via Twitter:
Always Keep Smiling!! It takes no energy and never hurts! Learned that from the Street!! #septemberstillloveyou
