Janel Jolly has become one of the brightest young stars to come out of the CFW 2010 scene. She made her debut as a professional fashion designer at the last year’s CFW with her Enchanted Garden line. Ever since, Janel has been thrilling fashion aficionados with her charming and sexy pieces.
Janel is a former student of the Edna Manley School of Performing and Visual Arts where she studied fashion design. She explains her additional courses in photography as “Photography captures moments that can last a lifetime especially on the subjects of nature and people which in turn give me inspiration for my designs and collections”.
Janel’s current ‘Samburu’ Collection reflects her spiritual journey through Africa. The designs merge various African cultures and styles. The pieces shine with vibrant oranges purples and blues, in varying degrees of intensities. Intricate detailing of the jewellery worn by the African people is also a source of inspiration for Janel. The Designer’s technical prowess in terms of garment construction, attention to detail and the choice of fine fabrics make every woman wearing Janel’s creations look amazing. Simply put, Janel’s clothing is refreshing, young, cool and sexy and most importantly allows the wearer’s personality to shine through.
