Singer and deejay Ikaya recently wowed patrons who turned out in huge numbers at the annual Taurus Bash. The event was promoted by noted Toronto promoter Picture man Lloyd and was held at the Royal Banquet Hall in Canada.
Ikaya delivered a knock out set which included large sized bites of Hard Way, High With You, Fly Away (which was produced by Don Corleon), and Good Up.
Ikaya showed her versatility by revving up the crowd with her rendition of Rihanna’s international hit What’s My Name.
Prior to Ikaya’s performance, the event felt the effects of the immortal Stone Love sound system, Assailant, dancehall selector Boom Boom and Future Fambo.
Ikaya has been on a tear in recent times. Hard Way topped the Jamaica Music Countdown, while the video for High with You has been in steady rotation at Jamaican music video outlets including RE TV, HYPE TV and CVM TV. The video is also enjoying attention on TEMPO. The song is reportedly a hit on radio stations in Kenya.
Ikaya’s most recent recordings include Aint Giving Up for producer DJ Wayne’s Monte Carlo rhythm project; and Can’t Get over You for Christopher Martin’s Cheeny Big Son Records.
Consistently working in the studios, Ikaya recently worked on projects for producers Seanizzle, DJ Frass and Flava McGregor among others.
