Eminem, Rihanna Lead Billboard Awards Nominations

Eminem and Rihanna will battle it out at this year’s Billboard Music Awards; the two respective hip-hop and pop powerhouses snagged the most nominations of any other artists.

Rihanna, who’s had an amazing year with several hits living on the Billboard charts, garnered an impressive 18 nods to Em’s 16. The Bajan beauty was recognized in several big categories including Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Female Artist and Top R&B Artist.

For the release of his mega-successful ‘Recovery’ album, Eminem also racked up nominations in many categories including Top Hot 200 Artist, Top Artists and Top Male Artist. He will also potentially win a few awards with Rihanna for their collaboration, ‘Love the Way You Lie,’ which is nominated in six different categories.

Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint also has a solid showing in the awards race. Weezy, Nicki Minaj and Drake grabbed a total of five nominations and will face off against each other in the Top Rap Album category, which also includes Kanye West.

The Billboard Awards will take place at the Las Vegas MGM Grand and will air on ABC May 22 at 8PM EST.
