The promoters of the much-anticipated Heroes Weekend Comedy Fest and pre party, Digital One Productions, have promised the public a most fun-filled experience once the three-day event gets started on the 14th of October at Limelight Nightclub, in Half Way Tree.
The weekend, which will be a combination of both music and comedy, is expected to start off with a bang when as veteran sound system operators Fire Links, Sky Juice, and Ras and Biggy take centerstage at the increasingly-popular Limelight venue. Entry fee is only $1,000.
The action will then shift to Montego Bay, at The Montego Bay Convention Center, where the first of two comedies, featuring several international comedians namely Isiah, Johnny, Gerald Kelly, Stanley Dubios, Michael Colyar, Donnell Rawlings and DJ Denvo, who will provide background music for the comedians.
The weekend is widely touted to be a belly-full of laughter and a most-memorable for those who turnout. Gates are open at 7:30 while show time begins an hour after.
The final leg stops at The Pegasus Hotel, in New Kingston and this, according to Richard Roache, will bring a climax to a weekend of total entertainment in music and comedy.
“See for the first two shows, we are expecting great things. But, when it all climaxes at Pegasus, patrons will not want to leave the venue,” he said, while noting that there’ll be regular giveaways and patrons get a major bargain with ticket prices at $2500 pre-sold and $3,000 at the gate.
The line-up of the acts, dubbed ‘Hollywood’s Best Comedians of 2011’ stands second to none with Gerald Kelly, known for comedic genius, being one of the leading acts billed for the event. The New York-based comedian will no doubt captivate audiences with his witty stories and spontaneity.
Veteran Michael Colyar will be at his usual best. The comedic star, who also serves as a motivational speaker, has promised expected patrons a belly full of laughter. Fast-rising Isiah Kelly is one to watch out for, as his repertoire as a Christian stand-up comedian continues to soar.
Local boy, Christopher ‘Johnny’ Daley, really needs no introduction as he has been mesmerizing audience since his breakthrough on the once-popular Lime Tree Lane comedic series. He as well as Stanley Dubious and Donnell Rawlings are expected to repeatedly rip people’s stomach apart.
