D'Angel thanks the angels after car accident

Dancehall artiste Michelle ‘D’Angel’ Downer is today counting her blessings as she was involved in a motor-vehicle accident in Morant Bay, St Thomas, early yesterday morning.

Dancehall artiste Michelle ‘D’Angel’ Downer is today counting her blessings as she was involved in a motor-vehicle accident in Morant Bay, St Thomas, early yesterday morning.

D’Angel, who was on her way to a show being put on by national footballer Ricardo ‘Bibi’ Gardner, said she was travelling in the passenger side of her 2004 BMW X5 when another vehicle collided in the side. The vehicle was being driven by producer Seanizzle.

“It (the accident) happened at about 3:45 a.m. A car jus’ come out of nowhere an’ hit my side because I wasn’t driving,” D’Angel told THE STAR.

D’Angel walked away with minor injuries as she said “my right leg is now a little swollen”.

As for the vehicle, which she said she never normally drives when going out of town, “the passenger side is badly damaged”. But she remained thankful for her life, saying: “Father God was in the midst of all this and my life is worth more than vanity. I am at home jus a gwaan chill because it was a very frightening experience.”

She added: “It look like angels really do have wings and there were guardian angels watching over me.”

D’Angel was travelling with her sister Jacqueline Henry, her road manager, André Sutherland, and producers Seanizzle and Mafia McKoy.
