Ce'Cile working to stay sexy

It’s a good thing ‘Bad Gyal’ Ce’Cile is in such good physical shape. She needs to be because she never stops working.

Just back from a successful annual summer tour of Europe where she had gone to promote the European version of her album, BadGyal, Ce’Cile has headed straight into the studio to work on a swathe of singles and a new album.

“I have been recording on some rhythms for the local-based market,” she said. “But the rhythm-driven kind of vibe is not my thing. I’m more interested in being an artiste with an album and touring and promoting such a product. I jump on rhythms only to satisfy my people who don’t buy albums digitally or physically.”

True to her word, she revealed that another album is already in the works, “I am working on one even as we speak,” she said, adding it is due to drop sometime in 2010.

As for the singles, they include a number of tracks which involve some of the industry’s biggest names. Songs like Ever Hot, on the Summer Bounce rhythm produced by Lady Saw; Can’t Wait, on the Paranoid rhythm by Goofy; Nah Stress Over Man, on the Street Bullies rhythm out of Big Yard; Friend, on the Cognition rhythm by Kingstone Production; and Take Care of Your Man, on the Unstoppable rhythm by TJ Records, are among those she has been working on.

She is also set to release the single Zoom Zoom by November. The song features Mr Lexx and “it maaad”, she says. An accompanying video is also in the works. Following the release of the single, she said she will be back on the road to promote it.

Ce’Cile admitted the physical demands of being a recording artiste have taken its toll on her drive to remain healthy and sexy. In recent years she has, through a lot of hard work and commitment to her health and appearance, transformed herself into one of the most attractive female entertainers on the market. Touring, studio work and a television show on the Caribbean music channel, Tempo, impacts on her desire to maintain that image. She vowed, though, never to yield.

“It’s hard,” she said. “I was away for eight weeks and didn’t do much exercise. I have a personal trainer, Juliet Cuthbert, and she tries to get me to eat healthy. I do a bit of cardio but, really, I do weight training. I can’t push as hard as I would like because I’m suffering from a neck and back issue (her doctors have attributed this to the high heels she wears) but as soon as I sort this out and can train as hard as I want to, it’s gonna be over.”
