Singer Bar-bee is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a New York hospital after being involved in a motor vehicle accident on Friday.
Bar-Bee was in a coma for two hours after the accident. Her Mercedes-Benz car was totalled.
Reports are that the singer was in the passenger seat of the vehicle, being driven by a female friend, travelling along the Taconi Parkway en route to the Jamrock Reggae Fest at the Hammerstein Ballroom, NY, where she was to perform.
“She was running a bit late, so she took off her seat belt to put on her make-up,” Bar-Bee’s publicist, Ray Alexander said. “The car got out of control and hit an SUV and Bar-Bee was flung forward, hitting the windscreen, breaking it.”
He said while there is only a ‘bump’ on the singer’s forehead, she was transferred to the ICU as doctors requested a Computerised Axial Tomography (CAT Scan/CT Scan) to find if there are internal injuries or bleeding. The car driver received minor injuries.
Alexander said he spoke to Bar-Bee yesterday and she was her usual self. He dismissed arguments about the singer losing a baby, saying she was not even pregnant.
