Rapper A$AP Ferg was recently a guest on Hot 97, where he talked about his new single, “New Level,” his next album, A$AP Yams, Drake vs. Meek Mill, and more.
Specifically on the album, Ferg said that he has songs with Missy Elliott, Ty Dolla $ign, Chris Brown, and more, and that it will be out a lot sooner than people think. He also said that “New Level” came about after he directed the “Thought It Was a Drought” video for Future.
As far as the Meek and Drake situation, Ferg said that he enjoyed the beef because he loves competition and he came up in the era where rappers actually wanted to battle and compete. “I think the Internet makes people more pussy,” Ferg said. “I think nobody actually wants to compete against each other and nobody wants to have interaction anymore. Guys don’t even walk up to girls anymore, they see her on the street and they say they have to find her Instagram.”
Ferg wouldn’t give an exact date for the new album, but in a prior interview, he said it would be early in 2016. “New Level” is currently available to purchase on iTunes here.
