Those who wanted to listen to the latest music would have been disappointed when they went to Extatic Fridays at The Pantry because it was definitely the flashback edition.

From the moment THE STAR entered the venue at 11:15 p.m., the old school vibe was set as Coppershot played some old R&B and hip-hop music. They played songs like Destiny’s Child’s Independent Woman then moved slowly into dancehall songs like Shabba’s Make My Day. Patrons sang along to It’s a Party, Hot Steppa, If I Ruled The World and Mind On My Money.

Extatic Fridays - the ‘Lollipop’ edition turned into a dancing showcase as women took to the centre of the dance floor to work up a storm.

With women free before midnight, they turned out in droves in short skirts and shorts and got themselves prepped to wine. When THE STAR team got to the venue after 11 p.m., some persons gathered on the outskirts of the dance floor while others headed for the lawn area, as slow jams by Richie Ras played. Marc Chin from Coppershot, the resident deejay, was on the microphone building a vibe with songs such as Sensual Seduction by Snoop Dogg and Lollipop by Lil Wayne.

Absolute Entertainment Extatic Fridays, staged at The Pantry, New Kingston, last Friday, was slow in gaining momentum and failed to climax to a thrilling end.

The party, staged under the theme ‘Inchz’, suffered because it was in proximity to May Daze, which was being staged only a stone’s throw away. May Daze also boasted a thumping sound system that could be heard well beyond the boundaries of the venue, and this attracted the masses.
