Producers have revealed that Cadillac Records, the highly anticipated movie starring singer Beyoncé Knowles and rapper Mos Def, will hit theaters on December 5.

Cadillac Records is the story of legendary Chicago record label Chess Records, which was home to a number of top recording artists, including Etta James, who is played by Beyoncé and Chuck Berry, who is played by Mos Def.

R&B superstar Beyonce is returning to the studio for her upcoming third solo album set for release this fall.

According to her label, Music World Music/Columbia Records, the multi-platinum selling singer’s latest untitled effort has been confirmed and will place her alongside hitmaker Justin Timberlake. Details are scarce as of now, but Timberlake’s roles with the project should be released soon.

Beyonce, Mary J. Blige & Mariah Carey Join Forces On Cancer Charity Track

R&B superstars Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole, Rihanna and more have united to create the single “Just Stand Up” to help support a cancer fundraising campaign.

According to Variety, the charitable song features over 15 of the most popular female singers coming together to generate funds to support cancer research. The record, produced by Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Antonio “L.A.” Reid, will also include vocals from Ashanti, Ciara, Fergie, Leona Lewis, Miley Cyrus, Natasha Bedingfield, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, LeAnnRimes and Carrie Underwood.

Legendary soul singer Etta James recently spoke out publicly in response to news Beyoncé will play her in the movie Cadillac Records.

After learning that Beyoncé had been cast to portray her in the upcoming picture Cadillac Records, James told the New York Post’s Page Six she is pleased with the decision.

“It’s a privilege and an honor to have somebody like that girl,” James said. “I don’t think she looks like me, but that’s all right. They can fix that up.”
