
Members of the anti-crime unit, Operation Kingfish, say that they will be speaking to two of the country’s leading deejays, Vybz Kartel and Aidonia, before this weekend about a picture police have in their possession.
The cops say that the picture they have show persons resembling the deejays Kartel, whose real name is Adidjah Palmer, and Aidonia (Sheldon Lawrence) posing with guns.

Dancehall artiste Aidonia, whose real name is Sheldon Lawrence, is getting set to release his Jail Story this weekend, as he speaks out for the first time about his recent ordeal of having had to serve time in jail for gun-related charges.
Aidonia, who is currently out on bail since last Friday (January 18), wasted no time in getting back into the studio and has already recorded two songs.
According to his manager and brother, Lav, “right now, him (Aidonia) voice two tune since him out for Stephen McGregor at Big Ship. One of the songs he even helped to co-produce called Jail Story, which is really all about what happened and his whole experience. Dancehall artiste, Sheldon ‘Aidonia’ Lawrence was given bail when he appeared in the Gun Court yesterday on charges of illegal possession of firearm and shooting with intent.
Aidonia has been given bail at a sum of J$500,000 and was ordered to return to court on February 1 when his matter will again be mentioned.
Lawrence has been in police custody since January 5 in connection with the shooting of a man earlier in the day.
The artiste was brought before the courts after his lawyer filed an habeus corpus application in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
Sheldon Lawrence, also known as Aidonia, is denying any involvement in a shooting incident which led to him being in police custody.
Aidonia, who is still in police custody awaiting an identification parade, was arrested on Saturday. He was taken into custody after the incident.
A press release issued yesterday stated that “He (Aidonia) wishes to assure the public, local and international, and his many fans that he is innocent of all allegations and that in due course his name will be cleared. His management is extremely surprised at the allegations as they appeared in THE STAR January 8, 2008.”

Deejay ‘Aidonia’, born Sheldon Lawrence is in police custody in connection with the shooting of a man on Saturday night, police told THE STAR yesterday.
The deejay known for such hits as Dat’s Up and Ukku, was arrested along with three other men and could be charged today following an identification parade, police say.
The Grants Pen police told THE STAR that investigations have so far unearthed that the incident reportedly occurred after a man had stabbed up a car belonging to either Aidonia or someone from his entourage.
