When we spoke to him in Detroit last week as he, along with his G-Unit soldiers Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks, joined Eminem and Jay-Z’s Home and Home concerts at Comerica Park, Fif explained to MTV News the reason for his tweeting hiatus.

“I just had to give it a break because I had to go back to writing. Writing my record,” he said.

“Concentrate on the music, picking the right things.”

On Twitter, 50 said he previewed some of his new material for Eminem, and the ones Slim Shady told him to play over and over are the songs he’s keeping. The multiplatinum mogul has been getting an abundance of beats to choose from.

“A lot of producers send stuff that’s interesting,” he said. “To me, it inspires me to write with different cadences, see a different style. I don’t want the record to sound like old material. I want it to sound like something new. They all go, ‘Oh, Fif, we want that Get Rich or Die Tryin’. They do the same thing to Jay-Z, [but] if you want the old one, buy the old one. If you want the new material that the artist is inspired to write, check it out.

“I sat with Swizz [Beatz]; I’mma try to get in with him. Don’t even be surprised if you hear me and Kanye, just talented artists — period. I’mma collaborate and make a monster this time. Ain’t nobody off limits to me in my head. If creatively they have something they feel is something for the project, I’m with it.”

The Queens MC doesn’t have a release date yet for his new LP. Instead, the Unit’s focus has been heavily on their “Punch Line King,” Lloyd Banks. Lloyd dropped a new record called “See Me Bright” just this past Friday and, like Kanye West, he’s promising new music every week on the same day. Banks’ The Hunger for More 2 comes out November 23

The internationally known rap star commented on today’s news that socialite Paris Hilton was arrested in Las Vegas for possessing cocaine.

Hilton was charged with felony cocaine possession on Friday night (August 27th), after police stopped her boyfriend’s SUV after witnessing marijuana smoke emanating from the vehicle.

The rapper claimed that Hilton has been snorting the drug for years.

“Paris got cought with some cocaine last night Man that b**ch been sniffin that yola,” 50 tweeted. “We was in mia a couple yrs ago she was gettin f***** up.”

50 also blasted Kanye West, who also recently joined Twitter.

“I just looked at kanye page what the f**k kind a spaced out tweets are those…f**k that I aint never looking at that s**tagain.”

“It wasn’t getting shot,” said the platinum-selling Queens native, who took nine bullets in a 2000 murder try. “It was my son and creating a stable life for him.”

The “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” singer returns to his old South Jamaica home Saturday, encouraging kids to get active in the community and avoid the street life.

“I want to be able to go and talk to them and [have] them really feel what my experience has been,” he told the Daily News Thursday.

It’s an intense, one-of-a-kind experience.

The rapper survived the shooting outside his grandmother’s house. The one-time drug dealer was also stabbed.

But the rap icon said kids don’t set out to do wrong. “They do what they’re influenced to do,” said 50 Cent, who hopes to exert a more positive influence.

The 35-year-old performer, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, is hosting “Forever Young Day” in Baisley Park – a six-hour event aimed at promoting exercise for local children.

The hip-hop artist tried hosting a similar neighborhood festival last year, but it was postponed because of security concerns surrounding his plans to perform.

An NYPD spokesman confirmed they are aware of Fitty’s appearance, with adequate security assigned to the area.

Still, locals don’t need to fear a melee like last week’s South Street Seaport show – the performer won’t pick up a microphone.

Fitty said the near-riot for a free Drake concert cut his chances to sing hits like “In Da Club” or “What Up Gangsta.”

“They would’ve said no to me immediately,” said the rapper, whose son Marquise is now 14.

He said lack of guidance led him to selling crack cocaine. Now, by promoting more activities, he can help others avoid making the same mistakes.

“You don’t feel the repercussions because it comes so far after the game,” the drug dealer-turned-rapper said. “I had no options: It was go on welfare or go in the street.”

And now kids are spending too much time on the computers and the numbers of children who are obese are skyrocketing.

“Technology is keeping them still,” he said, adding that he always stayed active as a kid by playing basketball or boxing. “You don’t see that anymore.”

The hip-hopper said he’s working hard to get back in shape after gaining back the 50 pounds he shed for a movie role.

“I put the weight back on,” he said, laughing. “I’m not back in shape, but my size is back.”

“I think it’s hot,” he told MTV UK of the video. “It’s interesting how [the censors] let things go. Standards on each artist are held completely different. The ‘P—y [Wagon].’ I’d like to see them leave that [license plate] clear and not blur it out when I make my next vehicle and it has the ‘P—y Wagon’ in it. You know? It’s interesting they let that fly. ‘It’s Britney, bitch!’ Nobody has a problem with that, but if I say, ‘It’s 50, bitch,’ they say, ‘Oh my God! You gotta edit that.’

“It’s their personal perception of your intentions,” 50 added about censors. “There’s actually a shot [in 'Telephone'] at the table in the diner where it’s just [breasts]. It looks great. But if I shot the same shot in my music video, they would make me edit it immediately. Even if I had a female talent that was a recognizable talent that I asked to be a part of the project, they wouldn’t let that go. They’d think in some way you are taking advantage of a woman for marketing purposes. It’s different standards. They’ll ask [me] to ask tell the girl to not turn around … if she’s dancing, for her to not turn around [in my video]. That’s the whole J.Lo show! It’s interesting, the standards they place on each artists.”

50 says even though some broadcast standards may not be fair, he does have love for Gaga and some of other queens of popular music. In a lighthearted part of the interview, Fif was asked whether he’d “kiss, marry or avoid?” Gaga, Beyoncé or Rihanna.

“I would kiss Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Rihanna,” he replied with a laugh. “I’d marry Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Rihanna — in Africa. I’d have three wives! I would avoid wearing condoms and make really big families.”

For some reason, when Jay-Z says something, other rappers seem to almost get a little heavy-hearted and sensitive about it and feel the need to lash out.

As Hov continues to use the phrase ‘Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t’ as an easy route to derail any diss coming at him from other artists, some have yet to prove Jay wrong.

With the release of The Blueprint III, Jay has etched himself in for achieving yet another number 1 album in his catalogue and has already reached platinum status as his detractors are clawing just to say that they have a gold plaque for their latest album.

The low numbers projected for 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct haven’t affected the rapper, according to him, as the response outweighs the sales, but Jay’s catch-phrase must have left its mark when he uttered the words during this year’s American Music Awards.

While on tour with G-Unit in Paris, the rapper was able to speak on the idea of numbers and comparing his track record with Jay’s so far in their musical careers.

“I did what he did in 15 years in 4 years. Like the numbers, you don’t wanna talk about the numbers.”

Referring to his first and second albums which totaled around 15 million copies, his offerings since have seen a steady decline, whereas Jay started off slow initially, but has since established a foundation and has yet to not nab a platinum record so far in his career.

These two have had a love/hate relationship since Fif came through the gate with “How to Rob.” Lyrically, the two may be in two different places mentally, but financially the two have battled for years and established themselves as major components in Hip Hop.

An artist such as 50 Cent, who was known to gloat over his success in mainstream sales seemed to be silenced once the theory of platinum status first week was shattered, due in part to a major leak almost a month before the actual release.

Where the soap opera drama of the two will go from here is uncertain. Whether they make up or continue to throw jabs is uncertain, but the fight for the crown will not stop until Jay or 50 can proclaim that they truly run New York.

Rick Ross took the stage with DJ Khaled for the 305 DJ’s birthday celebration. Before performing his hit “This Is the Life” from Trilla, he spoke on his nemesis’s poor sales week stating,

“So we celebrating my nigga birthday, but we’re also celebrating the demise of a pussy. R.I.P. to the donkey, we buried him. It feel good, nigga. Don’t look surprised, you knew we was gonna do it. There’s only one record that can describe the feeling.”

Fif’s new album was even pushed up a week early, due to an online leak. But, it didn’t help his numbers.

But, the G-Unit General is not upset about it, and doesn’t even consider it a failure. In a recent interview with DJ Green Lantern, 50 explained why.

“For myself, I’m asking myself, ‘What did you expect, bro? Your fans got it when it was available, at the first available opportunity,’ ” 50 Cent said in the interview earlier this week. “For me this album is a prequel — it’s full circle. When the energy around a project is the way this is, you can’t really feel like it’s a failure. Like, I look at the numbers and am like, ‘What is this?’

“I’ve already assessed that the album has been out a month before its actual release period [due to an online leak, and the album's early digital release due to the leak]. So when you got that, you go, ‘Well, what did you actually expect?’ ,” he continued.

His debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, broke records when he earned the biggest selling debut for a rap artist with 872,000 copies sold. Then, The Massacre opened with 1.5 million. But, with the internet affecting sales, he was only able to muster 500,000 in the first week’s release of 2007′s Curtis, despite major promo thanks to his staged battle against Kanye West.

“Jay-Z will f— 50 up in a battle!” Game predicted. “It would be so fast and over with. 50 is funny, but Jay is witty. Jay-Z is not to be toyed with. If he responds, if he feels like you’re really pissing him off and he responds, he’s gonna f— you up! He would f— me up, I’m just glad he didn’t respond, so I didn’t have to go dig in my bag and try to f— him up.

“I definitely think that Jay-Z didn’t come at me like he came at any other rappers because I definitely would have been more disrespectful,” he continued. “Once you start a beef with me, you better be ready to go the whole 12 rounds. I will try to chew your f—in’ ear off, like Mike Tyson. I’ll do it and I think he knew that — I’m disrespectful! So Jay, he did the right thing and just kinda let it die down and I let it die down ’cause it wasn’t anything, really. It was fun and I really admire Jay’s career. I just really don’t care too much for the man himself.”

The onetime G-Unit member also said he’s open to working with 50 Cent again — although 50 recently said he isn’t — but he does think Fif is just following his footsteps by beefing with Young Hova.

“I already did that Jay-Z thing,” Game said. “50′s just doing what I’m doing. Nobody went at Jay; I went at Jay. Now everybody wants to get at Jay — not saying anything about Beanie Sigel, that’s personal and I stay out of that. He’s just a man and he’s got all the right in the world, but I feel like I did something that people have been wanting to do, but everybody is scared because Jay-Z is so lyrically inclined to cut your throat and your career in half that nobody wanted to do it. But me? I just don’t give a f— sometimes.”

Both Game and 50 Cent have been in the lab with Dr. Dre lately. The Doc was in New York on Thursday at Best Buy promoting his headphones. During a press conference, RapRadar.com asked him about his relationship with Game and 50 since they are on opposing sides.

“It’s good, I’m working with both guys,” Dre began to say before Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine attempted to move onto the next question. “Everything is good. Both guys are gonna be on my record. I’m trying to put it back to where it is supposed to be: all love.”
