Sydicate Entertainments ‘Absinthe’, in my view, could become an absent memory. Pumped and rearing (no pun intended) to go from my loyal paree and nextdoor neighbour Ash, I cancelled a domino game and drink up with my tree family and dressed in my cute but revealing green top, my jeans (that is now covered in red rass dirt ) and my slippers (that rass popped on arrival….u know some would have called it sighs but I see no signs of an awful night when i am on a partying mission) hopped in the pathfinder to the event so that i can get druck and twisted.
Absinthe is what I like to call a UPT BOTTLE PARTY not to be confused with a BOKKLE DRINK UP difference being not the the ‘-townness’ that fronts the word bottle/bokkle but the atmosphere. In a bokkle party, like the one hosted by R.P.M. Aug 12, ppl get drunk twisted, frass, scandalous, crazy, obscene, caah tyaad, weed smoke in di air, ‘drink off’ the chaser a beeeerrrrrrrrr raws whites and appleton a pour which obviously mek the ppl dem morrrrrreeee scandalous and reeeeeyyyyyyyyy and it lock off when liquor done. But, in a Bottle party the patrons are in the most part well behaved, taking in the music , talking, one and two bruk out whine and they leave when tyaad.
The ambiance was nice enough. The party was at Lees Flat up Red Hills, a nice location but there was a few things that i didnt like. The incline plane hindered ma whining and the red dirt ohh the red dirt all over my pants and my friends slippers…sigh. The location of the bars were stratigically placed and the use of the space was good. Bar and detox bar to the side and bar to the back gave patrons enuff space to move (or in this case meet, greet and chatter) while the sound played on a ledge which served as a stage.
All in all, it wasnt completely a sore night. The people were loyal in there contributions to the bar flanking it with Coco Mania (which i have yet to taste but i hear it is crazy), Whiskey, Appelton, Wray and Nephew, Beers et al. So had to do it how i do, a drink in both hands….APPLETON AND COKE in one and a WHISKEY AND COKE in the other. Upon returning to the bar i learnt that they had bongs so yeah i had a bong of rum and coke in one hand and a bong of Carib beer (that is think is a knock off of Red Stripe Light…but it was ok). Then when i found maself a little light headed i headed over to the JaPlum (a so it spell?) bar where they offered either cold and hot coffee or coffee wit the splash of Appleton Special - but i had it without after all it a was for a detox moment.
The music sell off. Coppershot MAD but i wasnt aware of who else was playing though.
I was disppointed about this one but I hear the New Years edition was soooollldddd and should be sooolllddddd again this year so I will check that one out too to see if my mind will change for the better.
