finest parties move to Negril for Appleton Temptation Island (ATI) this summer.
ATI held its official launch on Saturday at Morgan’s Harbour. The party weekend plans to explode in Negril from Thursday, July 31 to Sunday, August 3. When the STAR contacted ATI co-ordinator and promoter, Dwayne Julius, he claimed that ATI will be packed with excitement this year.
Appleton Temptation Island features nine parties, including: Rhythm and Booze, Extreme Wet N Wild, Twisted Spiritz, Yush, Spiritz, MIA, Chill and Wet Waves. This year for the first time there will be Appleton Jouvert, bringing a little carnival vibe to Negril. All of ATI’s events will be taking place at either the Khool Runnings Water Park, Waves or Risky Business.
According to Julius, last year, ATI saw approximately 5,000 patrons and each year the weekend event gets bigger and better.
“ATI weekend gets larger every year, sometimes we think it can’t get bigger and it does, last year was bigger than the year before and this year we’re expecting larger numbers,” Julius said.
This year, according to Julius, ATI is stepping up the game so that patrons will get more for their money. This year, the whole ATI weekend is a super-inclusive one with all nine parties being drink and food-inclusive.
Julius told the STAR that this gives ATI a leg-up on their competition, the RTI Weekend, which occurs at the same time in Negril.
“We have the best line-up with Kingston’s finest parties moving to Negril. Extreme Wet N Wild is the most-anticipated party held in Negril at the Khool Runnings Water Park. With five different slides and go-karting, last year it was the best party. There’s Rhythm and Booze, which is the most popular party in terms of the all-inclusives. Appleton Jouvert, everyone loves a good jouvert, Yush is also well established so we cover all bases,” Julius commented.
The season bands for ATI ($8,500) will be made available by this weekend at various locations.
