All roads led to Long Bay Beach in Negril for one of the most anticipated event for the Red Stripe Temptation Isle weekend, Daydreams on Friday August 1 at Long Bay Beach. Despite a heavy burst of showers, thousands of patrons in South Beach themed all-white attire poured into the venue in droves as things got underway.
The all-white décor throughout the venue created a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere which illuminated even in the faces of satisfied party-goers who were soaking it all in.
There was a fully stocked food court with various dishes catering to different palates along with two 300ft mega bars within the venue featuring world-renowned Food Network chef Richard Blais and Mark Cannon working in the main bar which was located in the centre of all the action. They worked with liquid nitrogen making a variety of tasty and unique concoctions such as the ‘My Thai’ cocktail. The party also featured a premium detox bar ranging from gourmet coffee to tasty soups which party-goers took full advantage.
The VIP area was a treat for a select few who were given the privilege of divulging in premium food choices such as the popular jerked shrimp and exclusive alcoholic beverages. It continued the all-white décor with amenities such as leather sofas, whickered hassocks and four poster beds draped in white sheer material throughout the area.
There was also a Certified Bredren Endz tent which featured a water balloon popping competition which was a hit with the patrons.
DJ Bambino and the Gambino family from South Florida engaged the crowd with some hits from yesteryear, including Al Green’s Let’s stay together before moving seamlessly into songs like Mavado’s I’m So Special. The soca segment was ruled by Coppershot disco which changed the laid back mood of the event into a high energy belting out hits like Doug EFresh and Machel Montano’s We Not Giving Up and Patrice Roberts’ Suga Boy. A standout selection played at the party was Enur’s Calabria which also rocked the crowd. Busy Signal’s Wine pon di edge was obviously the deejay’s choice being played over four times throughout the evening.
The sunset created a beautiful backdrop to the party as the dominant white décor and outfits of the patrons made the party picturesque. As the sun went down there were orbs throughout the venue which gave the appearance of daylight. Patrons continued to party up a storm to the very end of the all-white affair some time after 10pm.
