FIRST OFF…COLOUR GREEN
The Legion hosted another sold off event “RUMFEST” at the RibKage where we were entertained…..with crickets…as in no joke people, no music was playing, the ticket booth wasn’t set up, the promoters were all over the place. The only thing that was ready and ripe for the picking was the RUM…the blessed RUM that brought us together at this dead event (and this was after 11) so me, my friend and our two ladies free before 12 passes sat down at the RibKage take out benches and waited for the party to kick off.
Pushing the 12 bells music began blaring courtesy of Imperial from the rented sound system. They took us back into yester-year with tracks such as “It was all a dream I used to read word up magazine, salt an pepper and heavy d up in the limousine” and “pickney naah hold man again…tell dem sey a good hole a do it” where I proceeded to bruk out while under my ..(can I count it) 3rd no 4th rum and coke out of a later counted in the night 7 or 8. The more matured (YES PPL RUMFEST WAS NOT A PICKNEY TING…FINALLY) crowd started to pile in then and the session started to pick up. Later we were entertained with the musical sounds of Kurt Riley, Coppershot, who buss the maddest Beenie Angel counteraction on the Beautiful Girl – Sean Kingston by Cham, Chromatice telling us to “pick up [wi] foot because [we] foot dem nuh flank” and Arif Cooper who played to a then packed venue.
The session boasted a dance floor/grass and a bar top be most of the patrons opted for the bar top (some literally). As the rum flowed the dancing got wilder, the girls got hotter, the music get sweeter. Sweat was pouring off everyones body and dripping everywhere. All the Skin Art (Body Spray Painting) was disappearing due to all the sweat and the grinding. WHOIII wat a night…what a Saturday night.
NO JOKES…LEGION A DI BOSS, RUMFEST A DI TING, LOOK OUT FOR IT NEXT YEAR AND OTHER LEGION EVENTS such as Fright 13….

Due to my bias, I have to admit, I did not try out the other rums but on their part it was not publicized properly. There were no signs or indication of the different types of rums and from where or maybe as I said, I was bias.
Listen Selectors, I know that u have to start of a party slow and what not but mi a beg u do, please, not everyone come a di dance wit dem odda half nor dem come fi look dem odda half nor dem come fi whine up wit demself, MI TYAAD A DI LOVE TUNE DEM. Chromatic rinse it wicked and I do respect the fact that you have found love in this hectic world of selecting an dj-ing where pums a fling from left right and center but please leave it to a minimum. I came to dance not to rub up wit an unknown negro with rum on him breath and want to sex mi because dem ask if “I have some time to spare maybe we can fall in love”…I WILL NOT HAVE IT.
Another thing Selectors…SHOW UP AT THE PEOPLE TINGS ON TIME. Done talk
The party was shut off by the police at 3:11 am, right in the middle of my song “gyal the buddy sweet u fi whine up on it….stop why u stop faah”. This is not a con but a precaution, pick venues that are not near residencies or police stations.
