Tempted, a drinks-inclusive party hosted by Delano from Renaissance Disco, will kick off the RTI weekend of parties on Thursday, July 31. It will take place at Temptation Beach in Negril just next door to Chances.

The exciting thing about Tempted this year (this is the eighth staging) is the Hawaii theme. “Well, this year RTI is working with the world parties theme, so for Tempted we decided to do Hawaii this time around. People can come and expect the whole venue converted into Hawaii. Just imagine all the ingredients that make Hawaii exciting. We’re going to have it all at Tempted,” Delano explained.

When the sun hit the majestic cannons keeping watch at Fort Charles in Port Royal on Saturday, patrons were drunkenly partying at Osmosis.

The long line of traffic to get into Fort Charles was the first sign that Port Royal was more vibrant than usual as patrons flocked in droves to the party.

The perfect Code , Bar none

Great mixes, good vibe and music was how one could describe the atmosphere at last Saturday’s Wray and Nephew Bar Code party.

The ultra drink inclusive event dubbed, ‘The Rules of Rum’ was staged at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston, and was rather well attended.

When THE STAR arrived minutes after midnight, the fairly packed venue had patrons rocking to songs like So Special,Money Fi Spend and Tease Her with Code Red on the turntables.

Where liquor was concerned, patrons had everything to their leisure, as several white tents were set up around the venue housing different bars. Some served mixed-liquor, while others served beers and other drinks.

At about 1:15 a.m. Coppershot took over on the turntables opening up with Sojah Boy’s Crank Dat before moving into Party Like A Rockstar, This Is Why I’m Hot, Fallen Soldier and a string of Mavado hits.

By 1:30 a.m. it was time for the females to feel the action as they got down and ‘dirrrtty’ on the dance floor. During this time several patrons were seen winning and gyrating against each other to songs like Wine Pon It, Force It Up, Wine Gal and Pon Di Edge.

Richie Ras then took over changing the pace with Winner, Pain, Book of Life,Love Inna Mi Heart and Chiney K. Even at this point patrons were still seen entering the venue.

By the time Code Red took over once again, the momentum rose for the rest of the night with songs like Nah Nah Nah, Tek Weh Yuself, Drunken Dance and Raging Bull.

By 3 a.m., the party had come to an end after the selector indicated over the microphone that it was now time to go home and thanked patrons for coming out. It was during this time that THE STAR left the venue and so too did patrons.

The energy at the beginning was low but the momentum eventually increased at the day-long ‘Rum Punch’ event, held at the New Kingston Golf Academy on Sunday.

The theme ’strings and blings’ was adhered to, for the most part, as many women were dressed in revealing swimsuits, shorts and dresses, while the men simply ‘blinged’.

Artistes like Elephant Man, Bounty Killer, Mavado, Bling Dawg, Munga, Leftside, Tifa, Timberlee, Natalie and DASECA’s Loraine were among those spotted at the venue.

Stush: high vibes, low attendance

With all the parties going on in Kingston last weekend, ‘Stush: The Paparazzi Edition’ got lost among the bigger patron drawing events.

Held at the Pantry, New Kingston last Saturday night, when THE STAR arrived at the venue minutes to midnight there was only a handful of patrons rocking to the music. As the night progressed patrons trickled in but the venue was nowhere near to being full by 2 a.m. when THE STAR left. DJs Christoff and Dre, from Renaissance Disco, played for the majority of the night finally giving over the turntables to DJ Sanjay from Coppershot at 2 a.m. At midnight Christoff and Dre held an oldies vibe with Beenie Man preaching about having ’nuff gal’, Nadine Sutherland sang about Action and Sean Paul ‘infiltrated’ the party.

High ‘Spiritz’

It is now official. Partying and vibes are akin to Twisted Spiritz. The all-inclusive event, staged retro style on the Palisadoes Go-Kart Strip on Saturday, was a blast.

The venue was set up in a trendy fashion with a central bar catering to the patrons’ selective drinking habits. Other bars, which also served up an abundance of alcohol, littered the venue. The lighting was first class, barring a set in the parking area that shone ‘blinding’ lights at approaching patrons.

Foundation

When THE STAR team arrived at the venue at minutes to midnight, there was only a handful of patrons on the inside. The Renaissance selectors were building the foundation for the party and the Tropical Rhythm girls kept the ‘early birds’ refreshed.

The selectors, for the most part, acknowledged the night’s theme ‘Go Retro’; however, there were times when they ’stepped out of the box’ and still managed to please the audience.
