Born October 1984 in a low income family that was about to see an economical change for the better, Keith Bolt better known as Ajrenalin seemed like the perfect sign of a blessing from god by his two parents, who resided in a low economy community in Kingston.

Ajrenalin had a normal life residing with his grandmother in a Kingston 13 community where he attended a near by school. There he fell in love with music, as he quickly became a member and leader of his kindergarten choir.

Singing was his first love, however, on leaving primary school it would become the end of his journey as a singer, as he moved on to his now Alma Mater, Calabar High School. At Calabar singing was less of an option, instead what was more popular was Dancehall Music. Ajrenalin became know across school campus as a DJ as early as 2nd form, and participated in recess performances in the school’s canteen. From there he would move on to pursue music professionally making connections with big names from the music industry that got first ears to his talent back then. Artist’s like Buju Banton who tutored Ajrenalin at a young age stood as an idol in his sight, as he instilled that education was the key while given him pointers on how to DJ with “style and pattern”.

On leaving Calabar High School Ajrenalin recorded his first mix tape “lyrical Rush”, which proved to listeners that he had serious talent, So much that producers began to take a special interest in his talent, and more connections were made from his sophomore material.

In 2006 Ajrenalin collaborated with the Ballaz productions on their “Rat poison Compilation” and produced the street anthem “40 Dead”. Even though the Compilation featured top artiste such as Vybz Kartel, and Sizzla Kolangi, Ajrenalin’s hardcore lyrics and hard hitting punch lines caused his song to stand out among such heavy hitters in the industry. The song was such a hard hitting and captivating track that Ballaz Production included him in the medley music video which was filmed later that year.

Ajrenalin released his second mix tape in early 2009 entitled “I AM THE NEW GENERATION”. The mix tape which was produced by Monsta Minds Entertainment was a great success as over 8000 copies were downloaded in the first 3 month of its release.

Today Ajrenalin is on the rise with multiply recognition from major local and international media houses including local news papers and tabloids in Britain. Ajrenalin has a list of recorded songs such as, Hustling Everyday, Mr. Joe, Meet Veronica, Money Affairs and Toll Free, which are all being rotated locally and internationally on some of the most established radio/internet radio feeds. With multiple TV, radio and internet interviews under his experience, Ajrenalin is making a stain on the industry with his modern day delivery and versatility. Throughout his musical journey Ajrenalin has made connections and recordings with some of Jamaica’s most well renowned producers.

Not considered as a young artiste by many prominent members of the music fraternity, but more of an undiscovered star, its safe to say Ajrenalin will rise to the top!

A native of Northern Clarendon in Jamaica, Monsoon born Denton Bedward has been compared to veteran singer-songwriter’s Capelton, Luciano and Tony Rebel. But where he really shines is on stage. After all, with a name like Monsoon, Bedward knows he has to come in like a strong wind, without mashin’ up the place too much. If you ask Monsoon, he’ll tell you his passion to explode musically has always been in his DNA. A stage career was in the making from them (students even paid to hear him sing and DJ their favorite songs.

Monsoon migrated to the United States, where he settled in the Washington, D.C. area. Monsoon is currently recording songs with top producers in Jamaica and is promoting his reggae single, “Asalaam-Alaikum,” which is being received emphatically in Jamaica, England and Canada. Monsoon, who performed at President Clinton’s inauguration and has opened for international recording artists (including Shaggy, Buju Banton, Capelton, Beres Hammond, Steel Pulse and Third World) is poised and position for his solo career. “I’m anxious to see how far I can go. It would be nice to be recognized as one of Jamaica’s finest reggae artists, but these things take time,” says Monsoon, who during the Summer of 2009, opened for reggae icons Yellow Man, Professor Nuts, Frankie Paul and Leroy Sibbles. After that performance, he got another moniker: a modern-day “Toots” (of the famed Toots and The Maytals). “I don’t even want to embrace that one,” he says. Toots is a legend, an icon. I just want to find my own place. Hopefully I will have a few people come along for the ride.

Kedon Whyte, more popularly known as Hitmaker, hails from out of Kingston Jamaica, where he started his dj career at the age of 16. His style, lyrics and flows can be identified with the likes of the new era singjay’s such as G-Whizz, Busy Signal, Wasp, Movado and many more artistes who are often described as the sons of Bounty Killer, the generation educated with lyrics of the warlord..

When not in the studio or busy with music, Hitmaker is either hustling to get through day by day, or writing more songs. He puts in a lot of work in the music and he is still working hard to do a lot more. He has recently finished his pro tools studio and he is also a qualified studio engineer. He has worked with a lot of well known “top”acts in the reggae/dancehall industry.

He grew up in the Hughenden area of St. Andrew where he attended Clan Clarthy Primary school before moving on to Donald Quarrie High School. He did a one year crash course in the performing arts at the Exced Community College. After leaving college, he recorded ‘Cock Up Is a Ten’ for the UIM/Digital One Label for Richard Roache. However, it was not until he did ‘Pray For Me’ in 2009 on his own Hitmaker Muzik Label that producers and radio disc jocks began to sit up and pay attention.

Rohan Perry from Rohan Perry Publicity and Booking has taken over his PR and booking, also with the development side of his career right now and his future is so bright; he’s got to wear shades.

“My first love is recording and being an artiste. I am a fan of music, so I know what people like, so I try to make music that I like and people around me can relate to, so I focus on getting the right melody and mix of lyrics out there to please them,” he said. Hitmaker is also a talented engineer and has a song with Konshens on one of his rhythms which appears on his Hitmaker Muzik Label, which is to be released soon.

Hitmaker is working with the his own label right now to get his voice out there.

In 2009, he also had a video in rotation on RETV, Hype TV, and Music+ called ‘Nuh Fren’. Recently he is working on his own Mix CD and voicing for various producers, which is creating a buzz a yard and abroad. Also he is making his appearance on various underground Mix CD’s and his tunes are getting exposure on local radio and television stations..

He has his two singles ‘Pray For Me’ & ‘Nuh Fren”,that have seem to pushed his career in 2009 and is back again with his latest single “Tell Yuh Bout Life” which is getting heavy rotation on some of the top radio stations in the island….2010 seems to be his year to shine….

..So through his self-resilience and determination he is working on making himself a success….so…

‘Gimmi Space’ said Hitmaker.

The Uprising Band
Element of Surprise

Ascending like the Sun in the East, The Uprising Band is borne out of Rockfort, East Kingston. The Uprising signifies defiance and assertiveness in actions to bring forth progressive and positive change amongst humanity. This band of musicians’ mission is to use the power of their music to manifest this positive change.

Located on Fairbourne Road, the studio and band headquarters is a real family home that is shared by the band members, artistes and often visitors from overseas. Reminiscent of the “old skool” studio “family vibes” where everyone worked, rest and play together. Cooking is a shared “family affair” and there is always someone on hand to prepare the meal. The “Element of Surprise” as they have been named is no ordinary band.

“Kush” Rashawn McAnuff (Drums/Lead vocal), started his career touring with his father, Recording Artiste Winston Mc Anuff. “Kush” who learned his skills from some of the best in the business, “Horsemouth”, Sly Dunbar and Carlton Barrett. Kush also the lead singer for the band, is not your average drummer at all!

“Pot a Rice” Ruel Ashburn (Bass/Engineer/BV) started playing music at an early age first learning the drums, later moving on to learn guitar, keyboard and eventually the bass. Inspired by the legendary “Bagga Bass” on a visit toTuff Gong studio with Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith. “Pot a Rice” is also the Engineer for the Uprising studio.

“Akinsanya” Lloyd Palmer (Dub Poet/Keyboard /BV), started his musical journey into the reggae arena as a “Poet” and was inspired by theVirtuoso Jackie Mittoo, Robbie Lyn, Linton “Kwesi” Johnson and Mutabaruka, in nurturing, honing and fusing his artistic talents. “Akinsanya” being a ‘Dub-poet” brings another ingredient into the musical mix.

“Jeffrys” Jeffry Graham (Keyboard/BV) the other keyboard player in the band offers a different “flavour” as his background is more Traditional black gospeland Jazz. With an artistic flair and exceptional keyboard skills he brings a soulful sound to the group.

“Junior” Joseph Sutherland (Percussionist/BV)) started out as a Nyabinghi drummer and since working with The Uprising band has been experimenting “outside of the drum” with various instruments, pot covers and whatever else he can get his hands on.

Conceptualized on 1st January 2006 the band core members met by jamming together as musicians playing together “Inna de Yard”. “Kush” recalls seeing Earl “Chinna” Smith, a friend of his father Winston McAnuff, a fellow veteran Musician ,that introduced him to Pot a Rice. Chinna said “si yuh drummer deh” a “Rice” had been looking for a drummer to work with. This gave birth to the initial seasoning of Drum and Bass been infused together Uprising style.

Another veteran in the business that was influential on the band is Sugar Minott as It was at his studio that a lot of the early practice and rehearsals took place. It was here that they would meet to rehearse and from here the start of their performing together on shows with Sugar Minott. “Kush” on his musical journey met percussionist “JuniorCongo” and it was decided to add some extra spice to the blend by bringing him into the band. Both in 2005 and 2006 they were the accompanying band at Sugar Minott’s “Reggae in the Hills” St Catherine, Jamaica.

In 2007 they begun touring with Gyptian to “Guadeloupe, French Guyana and Suriname”. “Jeffrys” joined the band for a tour to Barbados and Suriname again with Gyptian in 2008. Also in 2008 the band worked on “Black my Story” in Jamaica alongside a whole host of artistes including Natural Black,Turbulence, Lenn Hammond, Eazy Wayne, Hero, Nesbeth, Lutan Fyah and Sugar Minott. The band performed with Duane Stephenson, Nikiesha Barnes and Toots Hibbert at the CTV “Breakfast with the Stars” tribute to Jimmy Cliff and on “Roots Reggae Rising” in Kingston, most recent of all Protéjé’s “Seven years wish”, “Bands Incorprorated 2” and John Holt in Negril Jamaica.

To date Uprising Band has performed with many different artistes. Their diverse membership and exposure to many different genres of music makes this a dynamic band, able to adapt to meet the needs of many different audiences. The Uprising Band is a performance band in their own right and work with their own label artistes such as Elijah Prophet, Spoda Ranx, Lenn Hammond, Vania Colours and Earth Warrior as well as accompanying other artistes as required. As the owners of their own studio they are also a production band and can be called upon to compose rhythms or for live recording sessions. Currently “The Uprising Band” has released their new single “Know Yourself” on the ‘TruMusik Records Label’ and is working on the eventual release of their much anticipated debut album.

Vybrant hails from the parish of St. Thomas, from the community of Yallahs where the love for music started to find its way in his young and restless life as a student of the Yallahs High School. With a strong background in drama, Dancing and Writing Vybrant is seen as the whole package, a uniquely gifted individual who has the ability to woo his audience with incredible vocal skills, cutting edge lyrics and astounding moves and frolics.

A practicing Rastafarian, Vybrant’s career has gone through numerous phases as initially he was a hard core DJ who goes by the name “Squeechie Killer”, as he copied the lyrical style of Bounty Killer. Serious medical issues however, slowed down the career of this bright young star that caused his career to sidetrack for two years. This caused a life that was heading in a devastating direction of gang and violence to find rastafari as the message of His Majesty Haille Selassie and Marcus Garvey found its way in the heart of Andre while he was a patient in the hospital, as a result his direction and views on life took a 3600 turn.

Vybrant’s career has taken him in the presence of most of Jamaica’s prolific producers who holds him in high regards as a skilled songwriter and vocalist, namely Bobby Digital, Computer Paul, Global Music, Gamble House, Dean Fraser, Major Links, Flava and others.

With over ten years of persistent work on developing his craft, Vybrant has worked alongside some of Jamaica’s top performers, such as: Queen Ifrica, Tarrus Riley, Turbulence, Romain Virgo, Luciano and a horde of others. He has also graced the stage many of Jamaica’s top reggae festivals and other events island wide.

With a die hard attitude and a robust work ethics, Vybrant is determine to be a household name in the near future, to inspire and uplift the mass with his music.

With the release of his new and single “Ears Hard” on his management label Major Links Entertainment and a world class video to go along, Vybrant’s career is set to take the world by storm; a bright star is in the making.

Janisa Biography: Dubbed by industry insiders as an artist to watch in 2009, Janisa started the year strong with coveted features in Jamaica Star and Chat Magazine, only to be crowned Artist of the Month in March by Big Eye News Magazine. Last summer saw the up and coming artiste hand picked by Special World Radio Host DJ PJ Butta who featured Janisa’s buzz single “Big Up” in a Heineken Sponsored Summer Special of the World Chart Show, consequently launching the ambitious singer’s career to Reggae fans throughout the West Indies.
