Born Marvin Clarke AKA Wasp on December 15 in 1982 this extra-ordinary talent had his mind focused on music. An incredible songwriter filled with fresh and creative ideas ready to join the new generation of both hip-hop and dancehall. His major goal including topping the International charts and to be a part of making the music a permanent staple on a worldwide scale. Wasp first realization of the change of his music from hobby to professional came while he was still a high school student. He entered a talent contest that was staged by a Restaurant called Chicken Supreme, where he took home the grand prize. This was where he got his stage name Wasp, after his friends claiming he gave a hot and “wassy” stint. In 1996 he began performing on almost every stage shows. He also did his first dub recording that year for a sound called “Magic Touch”. The song was a success leading to the recording of even more specials for other sound system (DJ’S). Wasp then moved on to visiting other studios with his friends who had similar aspirations. One of these studios was “The Mixing Lab” which was where he recorded his first single with a artist called Jagwa. Shortly after he did a combination with on of Jamaicas’ superstar artist Spragga Benz and the song did create a buzz in the streets. In 2006 Wasp teamed up with Dmoneyy, the CEO of Dbeatzz Records, ThrowBack Entertainment, which consists of Segdron Henry, Xavier Jacobs, and Earl Taylor, and Badrasta Entertainment. They then decided to put together Wasps’ mix tape called “The Buzz” which hit the streets early Janurary 2007. The mix-tape which sure did create a buzz.

After the release of “The Buzz” Wasp began to spark an interest among popular dancehall producers such as Black Chiney Records, Don Corleone Records, and Kritcal Records. Which lead to black chiney collaborating with him to produce his signature song “Wasp a buss di place”. The video namely wasp a buss di place/murdera went straight to number one on the RETV’s MVP countdown. By November 2007 Wasp linked up with Don Corleone to produce a series of hits namely, Step to dem on the Atmosphere Riddim, All these things (2008), and Ano man on the Double Joint Riddim (2008), which are currently experiencing excessive radio play, features on dj mixtapes, along with spins in the dancehall and clubs. Currently wasp is working on his new mixtape “Cassia Park Attack” which would be released by late june. Expect greater things from Wasp in 2008, who is quickly emerging to be the one of the best artistes in the business.
