Kanye West has been sued for alleged sampling a 1985 song for his hit single, “Good Life,” without permission.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ.com, Maryland based songwriter-producer D’Mystro filed the lawsuit on March 20 in the U.S. District Court of Maryland, alleging that West “didn’t obtain a license to use” samples from his “Volume of Good Life,” which was written when the rapper was “only at the age of 6 or 7 years of age.”

In addition to West, the suit names Roc-A-Fella Records, publishing company BMI and singer T-Pain (real name: Faheem Najm), who is featured on the song.

He claims that West’s use of “contains vulgar and offensive” images on “Good Life,” “harms the reputation” of his much cleaner song.

D’Mystro is seeking 85% of all world sales of West’s music that samples his material.

Later in the suit, D’Mystro states various personal accolades, which include penning the 1990s hit “I Got The Power,” being featured in multiple motion picture sound tracks and baby paper commercials.

The Game

If you’ve heard the new street single “Big Dreams” from The Game already, it’s apparent that his distaste for 50 Cent is still evident.

This was reiterated the past weekend when Fat Joe stopped by Baltimore’s 92Q Jam’s radio station to promote his new album, Elephant In The Room. An inordinate amount of people called in, including a few hip-hop artists, but none of the phone calls was more striking than Game’s.
