Lox Reach Into Mixtape Archive For Reunion Show
Jadakiss, Styles P And Sheek Louch Reach Into Mixtape Archive For The LOX Reunion Show In NYC
Performing together for the first time in five years, the rap trio tore it down at BB King’s with old songs and new solo hits.

NEW YORK — It was a thug’s dream come true — a mixtape lover’s paradise — when the LOX performed their first official show in five years on Thursday night at the BB King Blues Club. They tore it down.
Please, do not for one second misinterpret “tore it down” for just giving a great performance. Watching a great performance you feel like, “This person on the stage is giving me my money’s worth.” You talk about it on your way home. Watching somebody tear it down, you stand in front of the venue for a half-hour afterward because you are so hyped, you just can’t go home. Watching somebody tear it down, you wish your best friend who missed the show was there with you to share the euphoria, but you revel in teasing him the very next day. “Son! How did you miss the show? You should have been there!”

T.I. Regrets Missing Pimp C’s Funeral, Says He’s ‘30 Percent’ Done With LP

MC assures fans that ‘everything is going well’ while he’s under house arrest; insists ‘there is nobody jumping ship off Grand Hustle.’
By Gil Kaufman
Considering he’s two months into a stretch of house arrest while he awaits trial on federal weapons charges, it wasn’t a surprise that T.I. was home for the holidays. And though his list of approved guests is reportedly small and heavily monitored by authorities, Tip tried to spread some Christmas cheer over the weekend by posting a video on his StreetCred.com social networking site, updating fans on the recording of his upcoming album, Paper Trail, and offering remembrances of some of the friends he lost this year.
Standing in front of a fireplace, next to a towering Christmas tree in his Atlanta-area home and wearing a black knit cap, button-down shirt, long black scarf and jeans, T.I. wishes everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
“Sorry I couldn’t be there with you to do it face-to-face,” he laments. Reiterating his earlier video message, he thanks fans for their support and prayers, saying “they’re definitely working, keep the prayer going up. I know God is listening.”
Though the charges he is facing are serious and could land the rapper (born Clifford Harris Jr.) up to 10 years in prison, T.I. tells fans to focus on themselves and not to sweat his problems. “Don’t worry about me, man,” he says. “Find you something else to worry about. God got me covered.”

Vybz and Jigsy war at Bembe?
An altercation between Vybz Kartel and yet another member of the Bembe squad, selector Jigsy King, last Thursday night, forced Bembe to a premature end.
Half an hour before the scheduled 2 a.m. end of Bembe Thursdays at Weekendz, the party ground to a stop as patrons rushed from the venue.
The event was going well before the altercation, with Jigsy taking the stage after 1 a.m. He played a set littered with Mavado and Kartel songs and made several statements that led to an uproar in the audience. As the selector finished his set, he was seen leaving the stage and heading in the direction where Kartel and his entourage were situated.
THE STAR team later saw Jigsy being hit in the head several times with something that looked like a bottle, after which he immediately left the venue. The majority of the crowd was apparently unaware of the incident as selector Biggy called for the event to end claiming he wanted a peaceful Bembe.

Welcome to Jamrock online … on target

When Paula-Ann Porter announced the start of The Gleaner-sponsored ‘Welcome to Jamrock’ at the Constant Spring football field on Friday, it was a minute before the slated 9:00 p.m.
When Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley said goodbye, after his brother Stephen had delivered Could You Be Loved and he had invited “Simone inna me love zone”, it was two minutes before the slated 2:00 a.m. end.
The audience, most of which was packed into the vast VIP section, had not had enough after 90 Marley minutes. Even as the band was packing up, most stood firmly in place as Porter marshalled the chant ‘we want more’. “Officers, no disrespect. We a go do two more tune. A Christmas,” Jr. Gong said.
Then parts of Road To Zion and Welcome to Jamrock, hit home hard.
It was the end of a well- organised, high-quality event which had built momentum from shorter stints by the earlier performers, Javaughn singing of Peer Pressure and taking over instruments from members of C Sharp band to show his skills on keyboards, drums (singing “do rocksteady” to cheers at the same time) and bass guitar.

Island explosion smashed

Patrons at the Island Explosion stage show in Clarendon had an unpleasant surprise on Christmas morning at about 5:10, as the top acts were about to take the stage.
The show, which was being staged at the Country Club in May Pen, came to a premature end as a joint police/military team invaded the venue while a Clarendon artiste, Assailant, was on stage.
The officers invaded the stage and arrested the artiste for using profane language. He was escorted from the venue and later released.
While the artiste was being escorted from the stage, a Gleaner freelance photographer, Nathaniel Stewart, who was taking pictures at the event was assaulted by one of the police officers and his camera smashed and confiscated.
